high difficulty” Games

High difficulty marks titles where failure is frequent and precise inputs, pattern learning, or deep optimization are required. On GPA, we tag games whose core pressure is dying, dropping, or rebuilding until mastery — not merely a Hard mode toggle.

※ Tags are created only when 5 or more titles share them.

What is “high difficulty”?

High difficulty is relative, but on GPA it means strict enemies or systems that demand repetition and deep understanding. It spans frame-tight action, precise roguelike builds, and factory optimization alike. Where cozy games forgive failure, high difficulty treats failure as tuition. It often overlaps soulslike and die-and-retry tags, but focuses on challenge intensity more than lore tone.

Who is it for?

  • Fine learning through repeated failure
  • Want growth via precise play or optimization
  • Chase the high of a hard-earned clear
  • Enjoy strict roguelikes and boss pattern fights

Less suited for

  • Want smooth story or exploration without friction
  • Find frequent failure stressful
  • Prefer short casual sessions
