roguelike” Games

Roguelike marks titles built around run-based randomness, death-and-retry, and rebuilding your loadout. On GPA, we tag both classic permadeath and roguelite unlock loops when short-to-mid challenge runs drive the experience.

※ Tags are created only when 5 or more titles share them.

What is “roguelike”?

Roguelike / roguelite design changes part or all of the run each time and treats failure as the restart point. Random decks, items, maps, and enemies create build branches; some add meta-progression. The core question is how far this combination can go. Unlike a single linear story path, roguelikes stack learning and luck across attempts. GPA's small-tag follows run iteration and build discovery more than a rigid classic checklist.

Who is it for?

  • Love the 'one more run' loop
  • Enjoy testing build combinations
  • Want to improve across short-to-mid attempts
  • Like games mixing luck and reading the board

Less suited for

  • Prefer saving and continuing from the same spot
  • Find randomness or unfair losses stressful
  • Want a long linear narrative first
